Microneedling

What is Microneedling and what does it do?

Microneedling with a derma-pen procedure uses a small needle to prick the outermost layer of the skin. This promotes collagen formation and skin regrowth. There are many benefits including;

Improving acne scarring,  reducing fine lines and wrinkles, tightening loose skin, reducing pore size, reducing the appearance of age/sun spots, stretch marks, and pigmentation, and can promote hair growth.

*Results vary*

Does it hurt?

Microneedling offers a minimally invasive solution to many skin conditions. My clients are offered anaesthetic cream to ensure the procedure is more comfortable but many describe the feeling as tingly rather than painful.

How long does it take to see results?

Improvements are noticed within the first week but the more dramatic results will be around 4 - 6 weeks after treatment

What are the side effects and downtime?

Microneedling causes irritation to your skin therefore you are likely to notice some redness immediately after treatment and minor irritation is possible for a few days. The skin will be more sensitive therefore you should avoid the sun where possible. No downtime is required and you can carry on your day as normal avoiding makeup and creams for 24 hours.

What's the difference between microneedling and home rollers?

Microneedling will offer a more dramatic result because the needles penetrate deeper into the skin, which will increase the amount of collagen your skin creates. The microneedling, as a result, will offer longer-lasting results.
